Jazmon joined Bionix as a Design Fellow after graduating from the Bowling Green State University Design Program. Since then, she has brought creativity, curiosity and a fresh perspective to projects spanning brand identity, product storytelling, digital experiences and marketing communications.

Getting to Know Jazmon - Q & A
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I’m a very crafty and earthy person. I love crocheting, drawing and anything art in my free time. I also like being on the water and paddle boarding with my mom and friends.
Q: What inspired you to pursue design?
A: My mom and dad have been doing art since before I was born and my dad is a graphic design artist. So, my passion for both design and art has always been my number one goal for a creative career.
Q: How did your experience at Bowling Green State University shape your creative approach?
A: BGSU gave me a perspective of working with others, learning skills from one another being collaborative, and willing to help each other. Also in the midst growing into who I want to be as a creative graphic designer and express who I am and what I love.
Q: What attracted you to Bionix?
A: I wanted the experience of working with a company that wasn’t strictly design-based. I wanted to get the feeling of working with different departments and diverse myself with language terms and common work dynamic in a medical scenery, which was Bionix.
Q: What project have you enjoyed working on the most?
A: I enjoyed working on the Latest News & Features project. It gave me the opportunity to create an idea from scratch, show what I can do and to have it featured on the main Bionix.com page. This design feature helps the viewers gravitate to the information provided by Bionix about new products, podcasts, etc.
Q: What have you learned about designing for healthcare?
A: I have learned that in the healthcare industry, minimal and clean design is the best way to present work. As a designer I have moments of designing busy and cluttery work as well as clean and sleek work so having a balance of both is refreshing.
Q: Where do you find creative inspiration?
A: I love searching through Pinterest, Behance, my fellow classmates and Damian (graphic designer Bionix). Learning how he does things inspires me to learning how to design faster but more efficiently. My screentime on my iPad and phone say Pinterest is my top used app, almost every month. It’s like my social media for design inspiration.
Q: What's one piece of advice you'd give design students preparing for their careers?
A: I would say take time to learn, listen and communicate with your peers. Don’t be afraid of creating too much and then minimizing the design. As long as you do what you love design will never be a hassle but a reward learning from different people, learning new skills and creating graphic design work that shows who you are.
