Description

The Bionix® Pelvis Belly Plus System is made of proprietary multi-layered variable density foam which makes setups accurate and reproducible, while keeping patients comfortable and stable.

Therapists rely on this unique system to achieve greater bowel displacement and accurate positioning of patients. A single lower extremity pad with sculpted leg and thigh cushioning provides both comfort and support during treatment of rectal, anal and spinal cancers.

A variety of abdominal inserts offer comfortable support for a wide variety of body types and sizes. The lightweight radiolucent treatment platform forms the base for the positioning system. In addition, the massage-style foam face cushion aids in greater patient comfort.

The Pelvis Belly System includes a small and medium abdominal insert. A large insert can be purchased separately.

Indications

The Bionix Pelvis Belly Treatment System is indicated for use by a healthcare professional to externally support and immobilize patients undergoing external beam radiation therapy of the pelvis or prostate.

Contraindications

No contraindications have been identified for the use of the Pelvis Belly Plus System.

  • How do I order this product?

    You can order by contacting Bionix directly (bionix@bionix.com or 800.551.7096) or contacting your distributor of choice.

  • What type of cancers would I treat with this unit?

    Prone pelvis is used to treat anal and / or rectal cancers. You can also treat spine cancers in the prone position.

  • Is there a specific area for the male genitals?

    Yes, we designed a cut out area in the unit to maximize comfort for males to accommodate their genitalia.

  • What is the weight of the system?

    The system is surprising light and easy to handle. The whole system including the base weighs

  • What is the unit and base plate made from?

    The unit is foam with a carbon fiber base. It is placed on a plastic base to orient it on the table.

  • How do you clean the unit?

    Preferred Method: Wipe thoroughly with water-based antiseptic cleaner or foam.

    Using Bleach: To disinfect the systems, use a mixture of 1 part bleach (~6% sodium hypochlorite active ingredient) with 10 parts water. Rinse with water and allow to dry before use.

    Using Soap & Water: For general cleaning, soap and water can be used to clean the systems. Rinse with water and allow to dry before use.

    What Not to Use: Do not use alcohol-based products on these systems.
