MicroSuction & Curettage Combination Pack

Precision removal with clear visualization

Description

Illuminated tools supporting microsuction and curettage procedures.

The Microsuction and Curettage Combination Pack brings together illuminated Bionix® tools designed to support precise cerumen removal in the exam room.

Powered by the OneLight™ Illumination Platform, a single Rechargeable Light Source delivers bright, consistent illumination directly at the point of care. This supports clear visualization during microsuction and curettage procedures, helping clinicians perform with greater precision and control.

The included microsuction system features quiet operation and hospital-grade suction, supporting controlled, effective debris removal during procedures. ClearLook® Lighted Ear Curettes™, the standard in lighted curettage, provide the control and visibility clinicians rely on for manual removal.

By integrating illumination into each tool, the system supports efficient workflow and reduces light-source variability. The rechargeable platform also helps reduce ongoing disposable light purchases while providing reliable performance backed by Bionix.

FAQs

  • When should I use microsuction versus curettage?

Microsuction is often preferred for impacted, dry or adhesive cerumen and when water is not appropriate, while curettage is effective for softer wax and more accessible cases. This combination pack supports both approaches, allowing clinicians to choose the appropriate method for each patient.

  • How does this combination pack support procedural control?

By combining illuminated curettes with lighted microsuction, clinicians can clearly visualize and remove cerumen and foreign bodies using the method best suited to the case, with quiet, hospital-grade suction supporting controlled, precise removal.

  • Is there clinical education available for the tools in my OneLight combination pack?

Yes, there is clinical education available for all the tools in your OneLight combination pack. To gain access to the training, please register your OneLight Rechargeable Light Source and we’ll send you a link.

  • When should tubing and cerumen catcher be replaced?

Tubing and cerumen catcher replacement should follow your facility’s established infection control guidelines. In addition, tubing and cerumen catcher should be replaced if there is visible soil buildup or if you notice a reduction in vacuum performance, as these can indicate compromised function. For any uncertainty, consult your internal protocols or clinical leadership to ensure compliance with best practices.

  • How should the tubing and cerumen catcher be cleaned?

Tubing and the cerumen catcher can be cleaned using warm, soapy water or placed in a dishwasher, depending on your facility’s protocol.

Important: Do not run water through the pump. This can cause internal damage and flooding.

Always follow your facility’s cleaning standards, and ensure components are fully dry before reuse to maintain proper function

  • How should I position my MicroSuction pump for optimal use?

For optimal performance, the MicroSuction pump should be placed upright, resting on its designated feet - not on its side.

Positioning the pump correctly allows gravity to work as intended, helping keep the Cerumen Catcher in place when not under suction. It also supports consistent suction performance, maintains proper internal function and reduces unnecessary strain on the system. An upright position improves stability during procedures and helps ensure reliable operation throughout use.

Avoid operating the pump on its side, as this can impact performance, disrupt component positioning and affect long-term durability.
